green home building
What is a green home? There are many variables incorporated in the design process of a green home. A green home is designed and built without the use of chemicals or synthetic materials in its composition, works with the natural environment around it, utilizes traditional building materials and employs modern efficiencies to manage a modern lifestyle.
Off Grid Oasis will design your green home from the ground up and offers a variety of building systems, such as cob, straw bale, ICF (Insulated Concrete Form), insulation based stick frames, pole structures, earthen berms as well as agricultural buildings.
Cob, along with the use of local earthen materials and mud, is gaining attention in many westernized areas of the world. Eighty percent of the world's population live in earthen homes. People existed in these structures for thousands of years in a sustainable way without depleting the environment. Now, as deforestation and climate change are imminent, earthen structures are a part of the solution. Cob has proven its longevity and durability with multi-story buildings that have existed for four hundred years.
Green building also involves the use of modern efficiencies. Not all off-grid families have the desire to return to the prehistoric way of living. Fortunately for us, there is a myriad of creative green building systems to use.
By designing and implementing a ground up plan for your home, Off Grid Oasis will combine the elements of design to build your off grid dream home.
